Villanova Recruiting
Villanova Men’s Basketball’s 2027 Recruiting Big Board: Looking Ahead
While they won’t end up on campus for at least two more seasons — if they end up committing to the Wildcats at all — Villanova is already starting to put out feelers for the 2027 recruiting class, offering seven different athletes currently in their sophomore years of high school. The Wildcats have tried a number of different recruiting approaches as Kyle Neptune gets his bearings as a head coach, finding the identity he wants for Villanova.
For the upcoming 2025 class, the Wildcats got aggressive, peppering the ESPN Top 100 with plenty of offers… to limited returns. They took a more mixed approach to the 2026 class, offering plenty of top prospects but also looking at potential diamonds in the rough in the Philadelphia area, perhaps using local ties in order to get an inside edge in recruiting battles. 2027 follows that same trajectory, with offers to early front runners in the class who also happen to be local standouts.
Here’s who Neptune and his staff have offered, and what they see in the young recruits.
ESPN Top 25
Three of Villanova’s seven offers for the class of 2027 currently sit in the ESPN Top 25, the best of the best at this early stage in their basketball careers. Center/power forward Jeremy Jenkins of Florida’s Riviera Prep occupies the No. 12 spot, already standing 6-foot-9. He averaged 9.75 points and 6.25 rebounds per game as a freshman last season, playing against some of the best players in the Sunshine State.
The Wildcats have been in contact with Riviera Prep in recent years, as 2025 commit Dante Allen spent the first three years of his high school career there, receiving an offer from Villanova in September 2022. They were comparatively late to the part with Jenkins, however, tendering him an offer this past October.
Moussa Kamissoko holds the No. 16 spot in the ESPN rankings, a 6-foot-8 Bronx native who currently attends Long Island Lutheran High School.
Tyler Sutton, a local product out of Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia, rounds out the Wildcats’ targets in the top 25, sitting at No. 23. Sutton stands 6-foot-2 and leads the Cahillites offense as a classic point guard, an excellent dribbler, scorer and defender already. He grew up just down the road from Villanova in Newtown, which could help the Wildcats in what will otherwise be a frantic recruiting battle.
Existing Ties
One interesting angle in the Wildcats’ recruiting strategy is that they’re targeting another player from Riviera Prep, guard Myles Fuentes. They’re one of the better programs in the state of Florida, winning the past two state championships, and perhaps the tie through Dante Allen helped Villanova’s coaching staff get an extended look at the rest of the roster. Another classic point guard — and a member of the Puerto Rican national team — Fuentes’ cerebral approach to the game could turn him into a big riser as the recruiting process goes on.
Other local recruits include Munir Greig of Imhotep Charter, who picked up an offer from the Wildcats ahead of his freshman season, and Mekhi Robertson of St. Joseph’s Prep. A 6-foot-6 wing, Greig could slot in at the 2 or the 3 in college, already possessing a strong shot from three and excellent ball handling skills.
Robertson, meanwhile, is a guard with two-way capabilities, the type of player who would fit in perfectly for gritty Big East matchups.
Last is another guard, Patrick Otey of Overtime Elite, a sports-oriented prep consortium in Atlanta… one that the Wildcats have recruited in recent years, including 2026 offer Adam Oumiddoch. Even though he’s only a sophomore, Otey went on a visit to Villanova back in September.
