Villanova Recruiting
Villanova 2025 Target Chance Mallory Scheduling Official Visits

One of the only top prospects still uncommitted in the class of 2025, point guard Chance Mallory of Charlottesville, Virginia picked up an offer from the Villanova Wildcats in October 2023.
Mallory stands 5-foot-9 and attends St. Anne’s-Belfield School (STAB), a private school in Charlottesville. As he grew up in the Virginia Cavaliers’ backyard, Mallory initially committed to UVA in September 2024, then withdrew his commitment a month later after the unexpected news of long time head coach Tony Bennett’s immediate retirement.
Upon decommitting, Mallory kept his options open, including telling Joe Tipton of On3 that he would still consider Virginia. It seems that Villanova hasn’t taken advantage of that renewed recruiting push, however. While Mallory heard from Villanova at the end of October, all buzz from the Wildcats died out since then. Mallory took an official visit to Maryland during the weekend of Jan. 17 and has further visits to Tennessee and Vanderbilt scheduled in the coming weeks.
Villanova will lose guards Jhamir Brickus, Wooga Poplar and Jordan Longino to graduation at the end of this season, so they could stand to add another, even with the impending arrival of 2025 combo guard Dante Allen, as of right now their only commitment for the class of 2025.
They’ll also lose forwards Eric Dixon and Enoch Boayke to graduation, while walk-on point guard and senior Collin O’Toole could have two years of eligibility remaining if he chooses to use them rather than graduating on schedule. With all five of Villanova’s starters this season set to depart at year’s end, their recruiting of both high school players and transfers bears close watching.
