The Villanova Wildcats’ coaching staff continues to put out feelers to improve their roster in years to come, offering 2026 guard Ethan Johnston out of The Hill School, a boarding academy in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.

Johnston earned his offer from Villanova head coach Kyle Neptune back in October 2024.

A 6-foot-6, 185 pound shooting guard, Johnston doesn’t yet appear on any top prospect lists like the ESPN Top 60 or 247Sports’ rankings, but he’s starting to rise his way to prominence, picking up offers from fellow Big East programs like Marquette, Seton Hall, and Georgetown, as well as Illinois. The Wildcats have taken an aggressive approach in recent prospect classes like 2025 and 2026, peppering the top prospect lists with offers… to limited success.

For the 2026 class, they’ve also issued a number of local prospects, of which Johnston would fit in… although he originally hails from Queens, New York, playing for Manhattan’s Dwight School as a freshman before starting at The Hill School ahead of the 2023-24 campaign. He also plays for the prestigious New York Renegades club team during the summers.

Johnston has an official visit with Marquette scheduled from Monday, Feb. 24 to Wednesday, Feb 26. A strong defender with natural athletic ability — and one who already stands 6-foot-6 as a high school junior — it’s not hard to see why Johnston is starting to sneak his way up prospect rankings, even if he’s not always an overwhelming scorer.
