Villanova Men’s Basketball added depth to their roster on Friday, June 12 with the addition of Towson transfer Abdou Samb. A graduate student with one season of eligibility remaining, Samb stands 6-foot-8 and weighs 220 pounds. Samb announced his decision in an Instagram post.

He appeared in seven games with the Tigers during the 2025-26 season as a result of an Achilles tendon injury. The year prior, Samb played 32 games (nine starts) and averaged 8.0 minutes, 1.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.3 blocks. Given his performance in the CAA, Samb will likely provide depth down low as a defensive substitute. He’s made 145 of 268 shots in his career, spending four seasons between Rhode Island, IU Indy and Towson, and has yet to attempt a shot from beyond the three-point line.

Samb’s addition leaves Villanova with four spots open on their 2026-27 roster; Italian big man Luigi Suigo will make his college choice in the coming days, as he has until 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 13 to withdraw from the NBA Draft.
