Villanova Men’s Basketball’s 2025-26 roster is nearing completion, with just two spots left for the Wildcats to fill. New head coach Kevin Willard retained just three players from last season in building his roster, Tyler Perkins, Matthew Hodge and Wade Chiddick.

Of those three, Perkins was the only one to play even a minute for the Wildcats: Chiddick is a former walk-on, while the NCAA made Hodge ride the bench owing to an academic eligibility issue. The 6-foot-8 redshirt freshman played part of his high school career in Belgium, and his transcript didn’t transfer smoothly over to New Jersey’s St. Rose High School, where he spent his last two seasons.

The Wildcats lost each of their five starters during the 2024-25 campaign to graduation, along with former walk-on Collin O’Toole, and the other six players left unaccounted for elected to hit the transfer portal at season’s end, including three of their four recruits from the class of 2024.

Willard replenished the Villanova roster with a trio of incoming freshmen, four-star Acaden Lewis, Chris Jeffrey, and Nico Onyekwere, as well as seven transfer portal pickups, two of whom — Malachi Palmer and Braden Pierce — followed him from Maryland to the Main Line. Other portal acquisitions include a pair of athletes from Grand Canyon, Duke Brennan and Malcolm Flaggs, and Temple transfer Zion Stanford.
