Phillies Prospect Watch: Hit Party in High-A
Phillies’ affiliates went 1-3 on Wednesday, June 17, with High-A Jersey Shore providing the lone bright spot for the system.
The BlueClaws racked up 16 hits in an 11-2 win. Second baseman Nick Biddison (2-for-4 with a walk) and first baseman Luke Davis (3-for-5 with a double) both homered; shortstop Trent Farquhar went 3-for-4 with a double, while catcher/designated hitter Kodey Shojinaga and center fielder Devin Saltiban each singled twice. Starting left-hander Mavis Graves covered four innings on 65 pitches, striking out five batters and allowing just one run; he also balked twice.
Triple-A Lehigh Valley lost 7-4 in ten innings, home runs from Paul McIntosh and Bryan De La Cruz enough to get the IronPigs to extra innings but not across the finish line. Keaton Anthony doubled, while Christian Cairo and Otto Kemp each singled and walked.
Double-A Reading got knocked around in a 10-2 loss, reliever Alex McFarlane enduring his worst outing of the season after giving up a three-run homer in the ninth. Aroon Escobar (2-for-3 with two walks) and Raylin Heredia singled twice, but the Fightin Phils couldn’t keep up with Hartford.
Single-A Clearwater lost 4-1, the lone run coming on an Alirio Ferrebus homer. Lefty and Phillies 2026 second round pick Cade Obermueller got the start and allowed three runs in three innings. Obermueller struggled with command, landing 37 of 62 pitches for strikes and walking as many batters as he struck out (three).
