Villanova WBB Recruiting Big Board: Wildcats Roll the Dice
Of the 14 players on Villanova Women’s Basketball’s 2025-26 roster, five of them will exhaust their eligibility at season’s end: starter Denae Carter, sixth player Ryanne Allen, reserves Annie Welde and Maggie Grant, and transfer Kylee Watson, who’s missed all but four starts due to injury this season.
The Wildcats have one incoming commitment, legacy guard Alexis Eberz, but other than that their recruiting efforts have largely focused on future seasons… and many of the recruits they’ve offered have a high level of talent that will being in plenty of attention from other programs, indicating that they’ll need to fill out the rest of their roster with transfers.
Here’s a look at some of the other recruiting targets for Villanova in the coming seasons.
The Wildcats offered a trio of 2027 commits: six foot tall combo Bella Owumi, who holds offers from more than a dozen major programs, as well as 5-foot-10 wing Sydney Marshall and five-star Ryan Carter, who has offers from programs like Duke and Notre Dame. Villanova offered Owumi and Carter in September 2024, relatively early in their recruiting period: whether that head start pays off remains to be seen.
2028 offers include four-star shooting guard/small forward Hailey Benbow, Alexis Eberz’s younger sister Kayla, and 5-foot-8 combo guard Riley Schellhammer.
