Villanova Women’s Basketball Continues Ties With Eberz Family
Villanova Women’s Basketball offered 2028 guard prospect and legacy Wildcat Kayla Eberz on Thursday, Aug. 7, per an announcement from Eberz’ Twitter account.
A rising sophomore at nearby Archbishop Carroll, she’s the fourth member of her immediate family to pick up a Villanova offer. The Wildcats earned the commitment of Eberz’s older sister, Alexis, back in June, and her parents Eric and Michelle (née Thornton) Eberz played at Villanova in the 1990s.
Eric is a member of the Villanova Varsity Club Hall of Fame, a three-year starter who amassed more than 1,300 points, while Michelle put up 1,261 points and earned All-Big East Freshman and First Team selections during her first and final year, respectively. The duo met during their time with the Wildcats: Eric graduated in 1996, one year after Michelle.
Kayla Eberz’s recruiting took off this summer, as she also holds offers from Marquette, DePaul, Arizona State, Michigan, Arizona. Her twin sister, Kelsey, could also gain attention from the Wildcats in the coming years.
