Villanova Women’s Basketball earned the commitment of Alexis Eberz, a 2026 guard out of nearby Archbishop Carroll, on Friday, June 28.

Eberz chose the Wildcats over offers from Marquette, St. John’s, and Big 5 schools like LaSalle, Penn, St. Joseph’s and Drexel. She averaged 17.3 points per game last season and helped the Patriots win the PIAA 6A state championship as a sophomore.

A legacy commit, both of Eberz’ parents played for the Wildcats. Her father Eric is a member of the Villanova Varsity Club Hall of Fame, a three-year starter who amassed more than 1,300 points. Michelle Eberz (née Thornton), her mother, put up 1,261 points and earned All-Big East Freshman and First Team selections during her first and final year. The duo met at Villanova, graduating in 1996 and 1995, respectively.

Given those ties, Villanova Women’s Basketball could hear quite a bit more from the Eberz family in the coming years. Alexis Eberz’ twin sisters, Kayla and Kelsey, are rising sophomores who started for  Archbishop Carroll last season. Kayla holds an offer from Marquette.

In other recruiting news, the Wildcats also extended an offer to Riley Schellhammer, a 5-foot-9 combo guard in the class of 2028. With three seasons to go in her high school career, Schellhammer also holds an offer from Mississippi State and a series of other Division I programs.
