Villanova Guard Wooga Poplar Signs Exhibition Contract With Bulls

Villanova shooting guard Wooga Poplar signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Chicago Bulls on Friday, June 27, per a report from Jon Chepkevich of Draft Express.
Exhibit 10 contracts mark a step down from two-way deals like the one fellow Villanova product Eric Dixon signed with the Los Angeles Lakers: lasting for a one-year term, they contain no guarantees and pay the league minimum salary. As such, Poplar will need to put on a performance during the Bulls’ training camp in order to prove that he deserves a spot in the NBA or the G-League, whether with Chicago or with another franchise.
Poplar spent the first three seasons of his college career at Miami before transferring to the Wildcats ahead of last season. A graduate of Philadelphia’s now-defunct Math, Civics and Sciences Charter School, which he led to a state championship in 2019, Poplar put up 15.3 points and seven rebounds per game with Villanova last season.
While he didn’t receive an invitation to the NBA Draft Combine, Wooga Poplar excelled during the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, a pre-draft camp that gives big league hopefuls a chance to showcase their skills, which perhaps helped him ink a deal with the Bulls.
