Villanova Football Adds Transfer Tight End, Offers Cornerback
Villanova Football brought in a local transfer at tight end, with Conestoga High School graduate Brody Eaton announcing his commitment to the Wildcats on Wednesday, Jan. 14.
Eaton, who stands 6-foot-4, weighs 260 pounds and won All-State honors in Pennsylvania’s 6A classification, played in 12 games at Marist last season, picking up one reception. A redshirt freshman, he retains three seasons of eligibility. Eaton also spent the 2023 season at Army.
Per his Twitter (X) account, Eaton hit a top speed of 20 miles per hour during his time at Marist, so he could provide the Wildcats with a big-bodied deep threat.
With plenty of time remaining in his college career, Eaton can continue to develop his craft in an offense that doesn’t rely heavily on tight ends — they rostered just four last season — but gave targets like recently-transferred senior Antonio Johnson plenty of red zone targets.
Eaton’s addition means the Wildcats have 20 spots to replace on their roster ahead of next season.
Other transfer portal targets for Villanova include rising junior Texas A&M cornerback Benjamin Bruce (5-foot-10, 175 pounds), who still has three seasons of eligibility remaining. The Aggies had to cut Bruce as a result of an NCAA rule change capping rosters at 105 players, but he remained with the team in 2025 as a ‘designated student athlete,’ a new category devised to accommodate players who lost their roster spot because of the change.
After losing much of their starting secondary to graduation or the transfer portal, Bruce, who Villanova offered on Jan. 12, could provide depth for a position group that needs it.
