Villanova Football Adds State Champion Receiver Hattan French
Villanova Football earned the commitment of wide receiver recruit Hattan French on Thursday, April 23, leaving them with just 11 spots to fill on their 2026 roster. French announced his college decision in an Instagram post.
He stands six feet tall and weighs 191 pounds, running the 40 yard dash in 4.49 seconds. Already possessing a strong combination of size and speed, the Fort Worth native could develop into a legitimate threat on the outside at the FCS level. French hauled in 44 passes as a senior, picking up 838 yards (19.04 yards per catch) and ten touchdowns.
His high school, All Saints Episcopal, won back-to-back state championships in his junior and senior years at Texas’ TAPPS (private and parochial schools) Division II classification. Villanova has important snaps to fill at wide receiver after losing Luke Colella and Lucas Kopecky to graduation, but they’ve shown a willingness to let younger athletes get on the field in recent seasons: true freshman Braden Reed starred for the Wildcats during their 2025 run to the national semifinals.
