Villanova Football picked up their first transfer of this offseason, with rising redshirt junior cornerback Mikey Allen announcing his commitment to the Wildcats in a social media post on Sunday, Jan. 11.

Allen made 38 tackles in 2025, adding ten pass breakups and an interception.

Villanova lost much of their starting secondary to graduation or the transfer portal, so bringing in a proven starter like Allen marks an important development at a position of need. As Allen retains two seasons of eligibility, the Wildcats, who went 12-3 and made it to the FCS semifinals last season, have a chance to establish some continuity in the unit.

Allen visited Villanova on Jan. 9 and picked up his offer that same day. That visit was enough to secure his commitment. Other interested schools included Monmouth, Rhode Island and Sacred Heart.

The Wildcats lost 35 players out of their 95-man roster to graduation or the portal, including 20 players who sat atop the depth chart at their position. With an incoming recruiting class of 13 players, expect them to get busy in the portal in the coming weeks.
