Villanova Men’s Basketball has officially signed three of the five players in their 2026-27 transfer class, with guard Jake Fiegen and forwards Kwame Evans Jr. and Devin Royal each making their commitment official.

With each move made official, Villanova head coach Kevin Willard gave his assessment of the incoming Wildcats in an official statement. Of Fiegen, formerly of Cornell, Willard said “Jake is a high-energy player who combines elite shooting skill with toughness at both ends of the court. His experience and tenacity will have a great impact on our team.”

A graduate transfer, Fiegen averaged 17.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists for the Big Red last season, sinking  41.4 percent of his three-point shots.

Willard coached against Royal, an Ohio State transfer, as part of his Big Ten schedule while at Maryland, and said that the 6-foot-6 rising senior caught his attention then. “From the moment I watched tape in preparing to play against Devin earlier in his career, I just had great respect for the way he plays,” Willard said. “Devin is a proven winner who brings skill and physicality with him every time he takes the court. We can’t wait to start working with him at Villanova.”

Royal put up 13.7 points and 5.7 rebounds for the Buckeyes last season; Evans, a 6-foot-10 forward, averaged 13.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. He earned praise for his size, character and athleticism.

“Kwame’s unique combination of athleticism, length, and skill will help us at both ends of the court,” Willard said. “He brings to Villanova the kind of intelligence, character and experience that impacts winning in all sorts of ways. We’re excited to welcome Kwame to the Nova Nation.”
