Villanova Men’s and Women’s Basketball’s 2026-27 season won’t start until Sunday, Nov. 1, when they take on Notre Dame in Rome, Italy for the Eternal City Tip-Off. With summer courses underway and student-athletes officially enrolled, however, both teams were able to begin their summer practice slate in recent days.

The women’s team posted that their training was in full swing on Tuesday, June 16, with rising junior and team star Jasmine Bascoe introducing Romanian point guard Miky Panait in a segment posted to the team’s Twitter (X) account.

Villanova Men’s Basketball posted a practice montage captioned “back to the grind” the following day, with new faces like freshman and ESPN Top 100 commit Adam Oumiddoch and Cornell transfer Jake Fiegen, a prized shooter, both prominent. The men’s first summer session will come to an end soon, giving players a chance to relax and see their families through the July 4 holidays before resuming.

Both teams snapped three-year NCAA Tournament droughts during the 2025-26 season and, with the Big Dance expanding to 76 teams next season, should expect to find a place as March mainstays.
