Villanova Men’s Basketball Offers Local 4-Star Rowan Phillips
Villanova Men’s Basketball is taking a swing at one of the top recruits in the class of 2028, offering four-star Rowan Phillips on Sunday, June 28. A 6-foot-6, 185 pound combo guard, Phillips announced the offer on his social media accounts. He currently attends Archbishop Wood in Warminster, Pa. and previously played at the Westtown School.
ESPN ranks Phillips as the No. 28 player in his class; 247Sports lists him at No. 20. He also holds offers from Pitt, Rutgers, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Penn State and Ole Miss; VCU, with head coach Phil Martelli Jr.’s ties to the Philadelphia area, is another program to watch.
Immediately before earning his offer from Villanova, Phillips dropped 30 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal at Philly High School Live, leading Archbishop Wood to a narrow 66-63 win over St. John’s College. According to scout Aaron Proia, Phillips showed his ability to keep the defense honest with shots from the elbow; he also used his size to drive into the paint and displayed plenty of hustle in transition. His combination of size, shot making and energy helped the Vikings to an overtime win.
Already one of the top prospects in the country, Phillips has two more years to grow his game in the competitive environment of the Philadelphia Catholic League. Click here for more Villanova Men’s Basketball recruiting news.
