Villanova Acquires Point Guard, Rising Star Bryce Lindsay

The Villanova Wildcats’ busy week in the transfer portal continued on Thursday, April 17 when they acquired JMU guard Bryce Lindsay.
On3’s Joe Tipton published the first report of Lindsay’s transfer.
A 6-foot-3, 194 pound point guard from Baltimore, Lindsay put up 13.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game with JMU last season. He spent the first year of his collegiate career at Texas A&M, receiving a redshirt year despite appearing in six games for the Aggies, and thus retains three years of eligibility. Lindsay made 45.5 percent of his shots from the field and 40.8 percent of those from three, earning the Sun Belt Freshman and Sixth Man of the Year awards for his efforts.
247Sports rates him as a four-star transfer recruit. A rising sophomore, he’ll have three seasons of eligibility remaining. Villanova made the cut as one of Lindsay’s top seven schools on Sunday, April 14, and he chose the Wildcats over Florida, the reigning national champions, as well as Vanderbilt, Clemson, Miami, USC and Indiana.
Between the additions of Maryland center Braden Pierce and Grand Canyon forward Duke Brennan, head coach Kevin Willard and the Wildcats still need to fill at least four spots on their roster ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Other Wildcats’ transfer targets include Maryland’s Rodney Rice and Tafara Gapare as well as Washington State transfer Nate Calmese.
