Villanova Transfer Targets: Wildcats Host Nate Calmese

Villanova Men’s Basketball still needs to fill six spots on their roster ahead of the 2025-26 season, and Washington State transfer Nate Calmese is one player who could help them do so.
The Wildcats hosted Calmese for an official visit on Monday, April 14, per posts to his Instagram account. “nova was good” read Calmese’s comment, although he made sure to follow that up with a “notcommitted” hashtag. Calmese, a rising senior with one year of eligibility remaining, averaged 15.2 points and 4.4 assists per game last season. His next team will be his fourth in four seasons, as he put up 17.4 points per game at Lamar (DI – Southland Conference) as a true freshman before coming off the bench for the Washington Huskies during the 2023-24 campaign.
A 6-foot-2, 164 pound point guard, Calmese doesn’t have any other offers or visits announced as of Tuesday, April 15. The Wildcats have also communicated with point guard Duke Miles, a fifth-year senior with one season of eligibility remaining. Miles put up 9.4 points in an average of 24.6 minutes per night with the Oklahoma Sooners last season. Right now, he has visits planned to Texas A&M, Penn State, Baylor and USC… but not Villanova.
Other Wildcats transfer targets including Maryland guard Rodney Rice, Grand Canyon forward Duke Brennan and Middle Tennessee State product Jlynn Counter.
