Villanova Men’s Basketball needs to fill at least seven spots on their roster ahead of next season, and the odds just went up that one of those spots will fall to rising sophomore Bryce Lindsay.

Lindsay narrowed his college search down to seven schools on Sunday, April 14, per a report from Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports: Florida, Villanova, Vanderbilt, Clemson, Miami, USC and Indiana.

A 6-foot-3, 194 pound point guard from Baltimore, Lindsay put up 13.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game with JMU last season. He spent the first year of his collegiate career at Texas A&M, receiving a redshirt year despite appearing in six games for the Aggies, and thus retains three years of eligibility. Lindsay made 45.5 percent of his shots from the field and 40.8 percent of those from three, earning the Sun Belt Freshman and Sixth Man of the Year awards for his efforts.

247Sports rates him as a four-star transfer recruit. Despite growing up in the Terrapins’ backyard, Villanova head coach Kevin Willard, who spent the past three seasons at Maryland, didn’t recruit Lindsay out of high school. The Wildcats did offer him during that initial recruiting period, but with most of their staff turning over in the wake of Willard’s hiring, there might not be much recruiting continuity for them to fall back on, which can help programs gain an edge in the pursuit of transfers.

Lindsay reportedly has a visit to Florida scheduled, but no other trips officially announced as of yet.
