To no one’s surprise, Villanova product Duke Brennan is averaging a double-double. The 6-foot-10, 250 pound forward played a pair of games in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, a yearly pre-draft exhibition open to 64 graduating seniors, and averaged 10 points and 10 rebounds across 21.5 minutes per game.

Suiting up for the team sponsored by Round’s Landscaping Service, Brennan didn’t take part in their third and final game. He went a perfect 3-for-3 from the field in their first game and excelled at getting to the line, making four of seven foul shots. Brennan added seven boards and a block in 24 minutes, then cleaned up on the glass for 13 rebounds the following day, needing just 19 minutes to complete the feat.

His shooting took a hit in the second game, when he made five of 11 shots and didn’t attempt any free throws. Brennan also ended up on the receiving end of a number of whistles, assessed three fouls in game one and two in game two.

After one season at Arizona State and two at Grand Canyon, Brennan spent his final year of eligibility with Villanova. He entered the transfer portal in anticipation of an NCAA rule change that would give all student-athletes a fifth year of eligibility. Should the rule change take place, Brennan reportedly hasn’t ruled out a return to the Main Line, although the Wildcats are filling out their roster down low.

Brennan tied a program record with 14 double-doubles during the 2025-26 season, averaging 12.4 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. While he isn’t likely to come off the board in the 2026 NBA Draft, he’s a hard worker who could catch on in the G-League or overseas.
