Villanova Men’s Basketball signed the lone member of their 2026 recruiting class, shooting guard Adam Oumiddoch, on Monday, April 20.

“Adam is a versatile player who can impact the game in so many different ways,” Villanova head coach Kevin Willard said in a release. “As one of the best pure scorers in this class, he has the ability to sore at all three levels. Adam will have an impact on our program from Day 1.”

Oumiddoch joins a roster loaded with talent on the wing: other shooters include Cornell transfer Jake Fiegen, St. Bonaventure transfer Darryl “Buddy” Simmons II and returning forward Matt Hodge. As such, Villanova will have the flexibility to cycle through shooters off the bench based on matchups. They also have plenty of insurance as Hodge works his way back from an ACL tear.

Oumiddoch stands 6-foot-5 and averaged more than 28 points per game with Overtime Elite during the final season of his prep career. He’ll need time to grow into his frame and fully exploit his size advantage, especially in the paint, but can impact the Wildcats knocking down shots on the perimeter immediately.

Graduates Lingering?

In other Villanova roster news, graduate forward Devin Askew will enter the transfer portal. A six-year veteran of college basketball, Askew doesn’t have any eligibility remaining. However, entering the portal gives him a claim to capitalize on any potential rule changes regarding eligibility, something that both President Donald Trump and the NCAA have discussed, the former via executive order. Fellow Villanova senior Duke Brennan entered the portal for the same reason, although he could conceivably return to the Wildcats.

Askew could conceivably argue a medical redshirt for the 2022-23 season, in which he played just 13 games, but he already received a waiver after playing in only six games the following year, so that isn’t likely. The former five-star recruit averaged 9.8 points as the sixth man during his lone season with Villanova. Taking a flyer makes sense for Askew, who’s more likely to earn a lucrative deal with another college season than he would playing overseas: like it or not, that’s college athletics in 2026.

Former Villanova forward Tafara Gapare also entered the transfer portal per Sam Kayser of League Ready; Gapare confirmed the report in an Instagram story. The 6-foot-9 senior played just nine games during the 2025-26 season, dealing with injuries before departing the program due to personal reasons. As such, he’s a strong candidate to obtain a redshirt waiver.
