Pundits expect St. Joseph’s forward Rasheer Fleming to come off the board somewhere toward the end of the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft, set to take place on Wednesday, June 25.

A 6-foot-8, 232 pound power forward with anomalous talent and excellent athleticism for his size, Fleming was the only player in college basketball last season to make more than 40 dunks and 60 three-point shots. Averaging 14.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.4 steals for St. Joseph’s, Fleming unlocked a new dimension to his game during the 2024-25 season thanks to his renewed success from beyond the arc.

After making less than a third of his three-point attempts during each of his first two seasons on Hawk Hill, Fleming enjoyed a career year, boosting his success rate to 39 percent. His 7-foot-5 wingspan will certainly catch the eye of NBA franchises, even if pundits say that a lack of playmaking will temper expectations.

As such, ESPN’s June 22 mock draft slots Fleming to the Brooklyn Nets with the No. 27 pick; they also said that his size and athleticism indicate an upward trajectory that will have teams ready to roll the dice. USA Today sent Fleming to the Oklahoma City Thunder at No. 24, a pick that originally belonged to the Los Angeles Clippers, while Bleacher Report gave him the highest appraisal, choosing Fleming as the Miami Heat’s selection at No. 20.

Rasheer Fleming is one of two Big 5 basketball players expected to hear his name called in the draft this season. The other is Villanova’s Eric Dixon.
