Phillies affiliates went 3-1 to open a new week of games on Tuesday, April 21. Alex Binelas, a 2021 third round pick of the Brewers, hit a grand slam for Double-A Reading and could be on the verge of a promotion. The 6-foot-3, 225 pound infielder has six home runs in 14 games this season, hitting the cover off the ball for the Fightin Phils.
Catcher/first baseman Caleb Ricketts hit two homers and two doubles for Triple-A Lehigh Valley, boosting his slugging percentage by 160 points and giving the IronPigs an 8-7 win with a walkoff home run.
Jean Cabrera endured another rough outing, allowing five walks and five runs across 3.2 innings pitched, and center fielder Steward Berroa went 2-for-3 with a triple and a walk.
Double-A Reading won 9-3. Beyond Binelas, shortstop Bryan Rincon hit a double and a homer; Dante Nori and Raylin Heredia each added two singles.
High-A Jersey Shore lost 4-1. Mavis Graves allowed three runs in four innings but managed to strike out six batters, while catcher Kodey Shojinaga broke up a no-hit bid with a sixth inning single, the Blueclaws lone hit.
Matt Ferrara continued to rake for Single-A Clearwater, hitting a double and a triple. Catcher Alirio Ferrebus, another top 30 prospect, went 2-for-4 with a double.
2025 Phillies first round pick Gage Wood got pulled after giving up four runs in the third inning, his shortest start this year, but maintained a strong 3.29 ERA after a blazing start to the season.
