Villanova Target, S.E. PA Native Luca Foster Chooses Gonzaga
Villanova target and Southeastern Pennsylvania native Luca Foster committed to Gonzaga on Saturday, Oct. 25, ending the prospect of his traveling the short distance from Radnor to the Main Line.
A four-star recruit ranked No. 37 in the class of 2026, the Wildcats recruited Foster heavily across the tenure of both Kyle Neptune and current head coach Kevin Willard; assistant coach and recruiting guru Ash Howard played a major role in their efforts.
Villanova, a school that Foster said he viewed as his hometown team, made his top nine in August, but ultimately couldn’t seal the deal. Foster played at Archbishop Carroll for three years before transferring to Missouri’s Link Academy, a boarding school known for its basketball recruits, ahead of his senior season.
A 6-foot-5, 170 pound wing, Foster is a smooth athlete with an excellent three-point shot. Listed as a small forward in high school, he may fit better as a shooting guard, although his 6-foot-9 wingspan will help him guard opposing wings. At Gonzaga he’ll have a chance to learn from head coach Mark Few, who has turned the Bulldogs into one of the most consistently successful programs in the country after decades as a mid-major afterthought.
