Villanova in the Pros: Eric Dixon, Lakers Ink Exhibit 10 Contract
Villanova product Eric Dixon signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Los Angeles Lakers per a team press release on Saturday, July 26, clearing up uncertainty regarding the 6-foot-8 forward’s contract situation.
Following the conclusion of the 2025 NBA Draft, reports surfaced that Dixon signed a two-way contract with the Lakers. However, he didn’t appear in a Summer League game with Los Angeles due to a foot injury and never appeared on the team’s roster.
Dan Woike of The Athletic reported on July 11 that Dixon never officially signed the initial two-way deal. Instead, Exhibit 10 contracts last for a one year term, contain no salary guarantees and pay out the league minimum. They also give the player an invite to the team in question’s preseason training camp. As such, Dixon will face a much steeper path to securing a professional roster spot, almost certainly with the Lakers’ G-League affiliate.
Dixon became the Villanova Wildcats’ all-time leading scorer during the 2024-25 season, leading the nation with an average of 23.3 points per game.
