Phillies Prospect Watch: Alirio Ferrebus On Cycle Watch

Phillies prospects went 2-2 on Wednesday, July 22, with a walkoff homer on the Jersey Shore and an offensive outburst in Single-A.

Single-A Clearwater won 11-1, benefitting from three-run homers from Jonathan Hogart and Alirio Ferrebus, the latter of whom went 4-for-5 and finished a triple shy of the cycle. 2025 prep pick Matthew Fisher fired four solid innings, striking out four batters and allowing one run across 65 pitches.

Nick Biddison (2-for-4 with a walk) provided the winning blast for the BlueClaws; 27-year-old first baseman Brandon Lewis (2-for-3 with a walk) and shortstop Tyler Pettorini (2-for-4 with a walk) both added doubles. 

Phillies 2025 third round pick Cody Bowker pitched five innings, striking out eight batters and allowing two runs across 70 pitches. Fellow 2025 pick Gabe Craig tried for a two-out save but gave up the tying run after five outs recorded and a missed catch error, setting the stage for Biddison’s blast.

Triple-A Lehigh Valley lost 2-1, their lone run coming on a solo homer from Otto Kemp; Felix Reyes added a pair of singles. 28-year-old left-hander Kolby Allard, a 2015 first round pick of the Atlanta Braves, fanned six batters across six innings of one-run ball. Double-A Reading fell 12-2, doubles from Raylin Heredia (2-for-4) and Pedro León nowhere near enough to make up for lost ground.
