Phillies affiliates went 2-3 on May 17, with Single-A Clearwater scoring seven unanswered runs on the way to a walk-off win.

Tyler Pettorini put them over the top 7-6 with a ninth inning single; left fielder Nathan Humphreys hit two doubles and shortstop Juan Villavicencio homered, singled and walked, each playing their part in the comeback. Sean Youngerman (3 IP) and Gabe Craig (1 IP) both managed scoreless outings for the Threshers.

Triple-A Lehigh Valley dropped a 3-0 decision, going 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position and squandering a three-hit game from Liover Peguero.

Double-A Reading split a doubleheader; Raylin Heredia doubled and Dylan Campbell walked in game one but both got caught stealing. Kyle Brnovich pitched 5.1 innings and allowed just one earned run, but a passed ball helped add on another run and the Fightin Phils’ offense didn’t give him any run support in a 2-0 loss.

Reading narrowly avoided disaster in game two, a Bryson Ware error in the seventh allowing two unearned runs to cross against closer Alex McFarlane; McFarlane went on to slam the door shut, freezing the batter with a called strike on the inside corner. Ware doubled in a run, helping to make up for the error, while Campbell walked, singled and stole a base.

High-A Jersey Shore lost 18-7. Luke Gabrysh didn’t make it out of the first inning in his second start of the week, then Giuseppe Velasquez allowed nine earned runs in three innings. The BlueClaws’ offense got their licks in with the game out of reach 18-1 in the ninth; Raider Tello (3-for-5 with a double), right fielder Carter Mathison (1-for-4 with a homer) and center fielder Devin Saltiban (1-for-4 with a three-run double) all contributed.
