Phillies Top 30 Prospects No. 28: Dylan Campbell’s 20-20 Potential
This is the third in a series of stories breaking down the Philadelphia Phillies’ Top 30 prospects heading into 2026.
The Phillies traded international bonus pool money to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Dylan Campbell ahead of the 2025 season, picking up an outfielder with 20-20 potential for relatively little in return. Campbell stands 5-foot-10 and weighs 205 pounds, a fourth round draft pick from the Texas Longhorns in 2023.
He began 2025 in High-A and earned a promotion to Double-A debut in late June, hitting 14 home runs with 33 stolen bases across 122 games between the levels; Campbell slashed .209/.295/.347 in 64 games with the Fightin Phils. While he didn’t show consistent power, striking out 52 times and posting an OPS well below league average (it hovers just above .700 for most MLB seasons), Campbell creates offense through other means — his 10 percent walk rate and ability on the basepaths.
MLB.com scouts give Campbell’s arm and fielding a 60-grade, indicating above-average talent on the league’s 20-80 scale. That alone will help him get onto the field as he continues to develop, even if only as a late-inning defensive substitute, pinch-runner or as a fourth outfielder. His bat might keep the 23-year-old out of an everyday role in the big leagues, but he’s climbed through the minors at a rate of roughly one level per year. Despite his below average OPS, he hasn’t stagnated at one level, which indicates continued improvement and a ceiling not yet reached.
Campbell still has plenty of time to develop, and his career ground out to air out ratio of 0.63 projects well moving forward. A non-roster invitee to the Phillies’ spring training this season, watch to see if Campbell can push his way into Triple-A in 2026.
