Donte DiVincenzo Punches Ticket to Western Conference Finals

Two-time Villanova national champion and 2018 Final Four Most Outstanding Player Donte DiVincenzo punched his ticket to the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday, May 14, helping his Minnesota Timberwolves to a 4-1 series win over the Golden State Warriors. The No. 6 seeded Timberwolves will face off against either the No. 1 Oklahoma City Thunder or the No. 4 Denver Nuggets with an NBA Finals appearance on the line.
While DiVincenzo spent time as a starter down the stretch for the Timberwolves during the regular season — at least until a turf toe injury kept him out of the lineup for several weeks — he’s come off the bench for Minnesota during the playoffs, averaging eight points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.7 steals across 25.8 minutes per game. DiVincenzo has also racked up 3.4 fouls per game, hounding opposing players and making his presence known as a pest… as anyone who watched his Villanova teams can well remember.
An NBA Champion with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021, Donte DiVincenzo is one of four Wildcats alumni still active in the NBA playoffs this season: ‘Nova Knicks’ Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges hold a 3-2 series lead over the Boston Celtics in their Eastern Conference Semifinals series… and could potentially face their old teammate in the Finals if things break their respective ways.
