Villanova in the Pros
Eric Dixon Puts On Strong Showing in NBA Combine Scrimmage

Villanova forward Eric Dixon continued his pre draft process on Wednesday, May 14, suiting up for Team Lazare during the NBA Draft Combine’s five-on-five scrimmage and helping them to an authoritative 104-80 win.
Dixon, who spent six seasons at Villanova, tied for the second-most points scored in the scrimmage, netting 15 on 6-of-11 shooting. He made three three point shots, shooting 50 percent on the day, and added five rebounds, one assist and one steal across 23 minutes played. Dixon’s 11 shot attempts, similarly, ranked second on his team and tied for third overall. It took him some time to get warmed up in the scrimmage, as one of his first possessions saw him drive to the baseline and then get stuck, trying to thread a pass to get out of danger with two defenders boxing him in near the net. Instead, he turned the ball over, one of two instances on the day.
A solidly built power forward, Dixon measured in at 6-foot-7 ½ while barefoot earlier in the week, tipping the scale at 258.6 pounds. He’ll take part in another scrimmage on Thursday, May 15, providing another chance to improve his draft stock. As of right now, pundits project Dixon as a late second round pick on account of his age and a perceived lack of athleticism. While he’s an excellent three-point shooter for his size, he might not fit into a traditional power forward role.
With performances like Wednesday’s, however, Eric Dixon could rocket up draft boards.
