Villanova Offers Another 7-Foot Tall Recruit

Villanova Men’s Basketball tendered an offer to seven foot tall 2027 recruit Obinna Ekezie Jr., a center and the No. 5 recruit in his class per ESPN.
ESPN lists him an inch shorter at 6-foot-11, but he already possesses good bulk for his frame at 220 pounds.
With two years left before he graduates high school, Ekezie has plenty of time to grow. A five-star recruit, Ekezie is the son of Obinna Ekezie Sr., a seven year NBA veteran who played at Maryland in college.
He also holds offers from Alabama, Arizona State, Cal, Houston and Kansas. While Ekezie is sure to pick up dozens more offers over the next two seasons, getting involved with his recruiting early could give the Wildcats an advantage.
Typically known for their small ball lineups, Villanova has made a point out of pursuing towering big men under head coach Kevin Willard, picking up Maryland transfer Braden Pierce and high school commit Niko Onywkwere this offseason. They’ve also tendered an offer to 2027 seven footer Theo Edema.
