Villanova Men’s Basketball picked up their lone high school recruit of the 2026 cycle when they flipped shooting guard Adam Oumiddoch from St. John’s. 6-foot-5 and 196 pounds, Oumiddoch holds the No. 54 spot in the ESPN Top 100 for his class. He plays for the Cold Hearts team of Overtime Elite, a prep league based out of Atlanta, and averaged 28.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game during his senior season, excellent output against top-of-the-line competition.

Philadelphia Sports Now watched film of Oumiddoch’s performance in the Overtime Elite championship series in preparation for his Main Line debut. Facing the eventual league champions, the Villanova pledge had his hands full.

He still managed to make standout plays, including several nice passes and a three-point shot from well behind the NBA line — Oumiddoch took 42 percent of his shots from beyond the arc as a senior and converted on 38.6 percent of them, again playing to the professional standard. His teammates created catch-and-shoot opportunities for him, but Oumiddoch also displayed willingness to make the extra pass, forsaking open looks to create a chance for those around him. He showed good hustle on long rebounds, crashing down from his spot on the perimeter to secure the ball… the type of effort Kevin Willard praises from his guards.

Room to grow

On the downside, Oumiddoch got caught looking on a number of defensive possessions. He also struggled to drive inside at times, losing the basketball three times in the first quarter before cleaning up the rest of the way. Continuing to build strength — his listed weight is up 16 pounds from earlier reports — will help him get to the basket.

Oumiddoch also looked excellent in transition, taking full advantage of the extra space and knifing to the rim. All in all, Oumiddoch has plenty of room to grow: he might fit best in a role similar to the one Matt Hodge played on the wing for Villanova this past season. With a reported excellent layup package, however, Oumiddoch has the potential to flesh out his game and become an all-around scoring threat.
