Villanova Men’s Basketball Recruiting
Villanova Makes Top 7 for 4-Star Guard Christopher Washington Jr.
Villanova Men’s Basketball offered 2026 guard Christopher Washington Jr., a four-star recruit ranked in the Top 40 of his class, on Friday, July 19.
Although their official recruiting relationship began less than a week ago, the Wildcats have already managed to stand out from the rest of the pack. Washington, who holds offers from close to two dozen Division I schools, announced his top seven on Monday, July 21 in an Instagram graphic from Joe Tipton of On3. Villanova made the cut.
Auburn, Ole Miss, Alabama, his home state Tennessee Volunteers, Cincinnati and Florida A&M are the other six schools vying for the 6-foot-7, 185 pound Washington’s recruitment.
Recruiting sites differ on his position of choice, with ESPN ranking him as a power forward and 247Sports as a wing/small forward; Washington, for his part, describes himself as a guard in his Twitter bio.
Washington’s ability to fulfill a variety of roles bodes well in an era of positionless basketball. It could also play a major role in his recruiting, especially if he’s adamant on playing guard at the next level. Nevertheless, the Wildcats have survived the first slim down of Washington’s list, giving them a chance at their first recruiting win in the class of 2026.
