Much like their interior line, Villanova Football enters the 2025 season with two entrenched starters at tackle. Senior Stephane Voltaire (6-foot-5, 315 pounds), a preseason All-CAA honorable mention, started 27 games across the past two seasons.

On the other end of the line, redshirt sophomore Kyle Fay (6-foot-6, 310 pounds) broke into the starting lineup for 12 games last season. With three years of eligibility and the type of length needed to fend off edge rushers trying to turn the corner, Fay could turn into a legitimate star during his time with the Wildcats.

Other tackles on the shortlist for playing time include sophomores Tommy Broderick (6-foot-5, 295 pounds) and Ryan Cregan (6-foot-6, 315 pounds). They started 10 and four games in 2024, respectively, and could serve as injury replacements or as swing tackles in heavy sets.

Loading Up on Tackles

Most of the rest of the offensive linemen on the Wildcats’ roster played at tackle in high school but are either incoming freshmen or have played sparingly during their time on the Main Line. As Villanova has ten current/former tackles compared to just six interior linemen, some of these athletes could switch to the inside if needed.

Incoming freshman Colt Brennan (6-foot-5, 325 pounds) will almost certainly stick at tackle, his reported 82.5 inch wingspan making him a natural for the position in the future. His fellow Class of 2029 members are Chris Therien (6-foot-5, 280 pounds), a First Team All-State honoree in New Jersey, and Nico Sclafani (6-foot-2, 290 pounds), a two-time All-State team member in Maryland whose father, Steve, played at Penn.

Depth pieces like senior Dan McManus (6-foot-4, 270 pounds) and RJ Reyes (6-foot-5, 295 pounds) could step in as needed while the younger players mature. Redshirt freshman Dhamir Wesley (6-foot-5, 300 pounds) rounds out the list. He played tight end in high school, but the Wildcats liked his fit at tackle better. Wesley could earn playing time as a swing tackle, especially because his background at tight end gives him upside as a receiving threat.
