After losing do-it-all kicker and punter Ethan Gettman to graduation, Villanova Football turned to a pair of graduate transfers to hold down their special teams unit in 2025.

Place kicker Jack Barnum (6-foot-2, 210 pounds) began his career with Albany before breaking out at Central Connecticut State over the past two seasons, earning a pair of First-Team All-NEC selections. He made 16 of 21 field goal tries in 2024 with a long of 50 yards, and also went a near-perfect 34-of-35 on extra points.

While Barnum handled kickoff duties during his time at Albany, he recorded just eight touchbacks in 2023, so don’t rule out a kickoff specialist in 2025.

Other kicking options include redshirt freshman Luke Myers (5-foot-10, 195 pounds), who played soccer and nailed a record 61-yard field goal while in high school, and senior Sebastian Smith, who served as a depth option with the Wildcats in previous seasons.

When the ‘Cats Don’t Score…

Luke Larsen (6-foot-2, 225 pounds) transferred in from East Carolina to handle punting duties. He averaged 38.55 net yards per punt attempt during his time with the Pirates and pinned 51 of 174 career punts inside the opposing 20-yard line. He also forced 75 fair catch calls, putting enough lift under his punts to limit a return.

Junior Daniel Mueller (5-foot-10, 200 pounds) will give Villanova Football another reserve punting option

The Wildcats list just one long snapper on the roster, sophomore Thomas Colello (5-foot-11, 205 pounds), but could turn to one of their centers or linebackers in emergency situations..
