Villanova Football Corner Isas Waxter Works Out for NFL Clubs

With the 2025 NFL draft less than two weeks away, professional clubs are hosting Villanova football cornerback Isas Waxter II at their local pro days.
Waxter spent time working out at the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants and New York Jets’ respective facilities, per a report from Eagles’ reporter James Simone, giving Waxter a series of opportunities to showcase his talents and improve his draft stock.
Each of the 32 NFL franchises host a local pro day for prospects who hail from the region, giving them an added chance to catch the eye of a scout or front office member. Waxter grew up in Montclair, N.J., landing him in the catchment area for each of those three teams.
Waxter, 23, spent six seasons with Villanova football, including a medical redshirt in 2022 after an injury caused him to miss the entire season. He racked up three interceptions — all of them during the 2023 season, his first as an All-American — 75 solo tackles, 19 passes defended, three forced fumbles and seven tackles for loss during 46 games in his Wildcats’ career.
He’s bigger than the average cornerback, clocking in at 6-foot-1 and 209 pounds at the NFL Combine, but that didn’t stop him from running a respectable 4.56 second 40-yard dash in Indianapolis. Even so, a position switch to safety could serve Waxter best as he looks to catch on with a big league club.
Another team potentially interested in Waxter’s services is the Buffalo Bills, who interviewed him at the combine and drafted fellow Villanova football product Christian Benford in 2022… recently signing him to a four year, $76 million extension. Right now, Waxter projects as a Day 3 pick in one of the later rounds of the draft.
