Villanova football alumnus Isas “Ice” Waxter II didn’t hear his name called in the 2025 NFL Draft, but he still managed to sign a professional contract on Saturday, April 26, inking a deal with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent soon after the conclusion of the draft.

Waxter, 23, spent six seasons with Villanova football, including a medical redshirt in 2022 after an injury caused him to miss the entire season. He racked up three interceptions — all of them during the 2023 season, his first as an All-American — 75 solo tackles, 19 passes defended, three forced fumbles and seven tackles for loss during 46 games in his Wildcats’ career.

A cornerback by trade, Waxter stands 6-foot-1 and weighed in at 209 pounds at the NFL combine. Even for the pros, Waxter is bigger than the average corner, but that didn’t stop him from running a respectable 4.56 second 40-yard dash in Indianapolis. Even so, a position switch to safety could serve Waxter best as he looks to catch on with Seattle… especially because undrafted free agents face an uphill battle to even earn a roster spot out of training camp. Excelling on special teams is another way Waxter could show he belongs.

Waxter joins Christian Benford, who signed a four year, $76 million contract extension with the Buffalo Bills this offseason, as one of two Villanova football products currently active in the NFL.
