Villanova cornerback and two-time FCS All-American Selection Isas Waxter took part in the NFL Combine on Friday, Feb. 28, participating in a bevy of physical tests and measurements.

Waxter, 23, spent six seasons with Villanova, including a medical redshirt in 2022 after an injury caused him to miss the entire season. He racked up three interceptions — all of them during the 2023 season, his first as an All-American — 75 solo tackles, 19 passes defended, three forced fumbles and seven tackles for loss during 46 games in his Wildcats’ career.

At the combine, Waxter tipped the scale at 209 pounds — a bit lighter than his 212 pound mark at the Shrine Bowl — and measured in at 6-foot-1 and a quarter, both elite marks for the cornerback position. His ‘explosive’ traits like the vertical jump and broad jump measured in at 35 inches and 10 feet and one half inch, respectively, quite respectable for an athlete of his size but not spectacular marks. He clocked an (unofficial) 4.56 second 40-yard dash, once again not a bad mark for a tall, physical corner… although his 1.6 second ten yard split indicates below average acceleration.

Rounding out the list, Waxter’s hands measured in at nine and a half inches, his arms at 31 and three-quarter inches, and his wingspan at 78 and one-eighth inches.

All of his physical measurements rank significantly above average for an NFL cornerback. Right now, Waxter likely projects as a Day 3 pick in the draft, but further physical tests like the bench press and three-cone drill could help raise his stock.
