Phillies Prospect Watch: Reyes, Anthony Lead Seven-Run Rally
Phillies affiliates went 2-2 on Wednesday, June 10, with Triple-A Lehigh Valley scoring seven runs in the final two innings to secure a comeback win in extras.
A two-run home run from first baseman Keaton Anthony gave the IronPigs a tenth inning win; Felix Reyes hit a three-run bomb in the ninth to send the game to extras. Dylan Moore and Paul McIntosh each logged three hits, while shortstop Christian Cairo went 2-for-4 with a double and a steal.
Double-A Reading won 6-4, 26-year-old right-hander Braydon Tucker allowing four hits and one run over six innings. Designated hitter Caleb Ricketts — sent back to Reading after a tough start to the season in Triple-A — and first baseman Alex Binelas homered, and Aroon Escobar went 2-for-4 with a double.
High-A Jersey Shore lost 11-3, a Devin Saltiban fielding error adding to a six-run first inning that chased starter Mavis Graves (0.2 IP, six runs, two earned runs) from the game. Shortstop Trent Farquhar and third baseman Tyler Pettorini both went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk, but the BlueClaws couldn’t gain substantial ground against the early deficit.
Single-A Clearwater struggled through a 10-1 loss, the lone run coming via a solo home run from outfielder Griffin Burkholder. Burkholder also drew a walk and right fielder Nathan Humphreys doubled, together accounting for half the Threshers’ hits.
