Phillies affiliates went 1-3 on Tuesday, June 9, with one of the more impressive streaks in Minor League Baseball coming to an end. Double-A Reading won 7-5, flamethrowing closer Alex McFarlane allowing two runs in 1.1 innings — his first earned runs allowed since April 17, a 16.1 inning stretch — but managed to secure the save.

Embattled starter and Phillies’ No. 13 prospect Jean Cabrera flirted with a quality start, allowing three runs in 5.2 innings; Caleb Ricketts hit two home runs, accounting for six RBI. Shortstop Bryan Rincon drew four walks; he and Aroon Escobar each stole two bases.

Triple-A Lehigh Valley lost 5-2; first baseman/outfielder Keaton Anthony reached base twice, as did 33-year-old second baseman Dylan Moore. Former big leaguer Carter Kieboom hit a two-run double that accounted for all the scoring.

High-A Jersey Shore went down quietly in a 5-0 loss, managing just three hits. Catcher/designated hitter Kodey Shojinaga went 2-for-3 with two singles and starting pitcher Sam Highfill went six innings, striking out five batters and allowing three runs.

Single-A Clearwater lost 7-5 after giving up a six run rally in the eighth inning. That erased five innings of one-hit ball from starting right-handed Tanner Gresham. Nathan Humphreys went 2-for-5 with a double and a home run, continuing his recent hot streak; left fielder Nolan Beltran went 2-for-4 with a double.
