Phillies Prospect Watch: Felix Reyes Demolishing the Ball

Phillies affiliates went 2-2 on Friday, May 29, with Felix Reyes continuing to punish the baseball since getting sent back to Triple-A.

Triple-A Lehigh Valley won 5-4 in 11 innings, blanking Buffalo in both of the extra frames.  Reyes homered yet again, a two-run blast for his 12th homer in 28 games with the IronPigs this season… and his sixth in nine games since rejoining Lehigh Valley.

Catcher/designated hitter Paul McIntosh also hammered the ball, hitting two doubles and a single.

Double-A Reading lost 9-1, their lone run coming in the form of a solo shot from catcher Kehden Hettiger. Phillies 2023 16th round pick Luke Russo allowed two runs (one earned) in five innings and struck out eight batters; shortstop Erick Brito, on a rehab assignment from Triple-A after starting the season on the Injured List, hit two singles.

High-A Jersey Shore won 8-3, center fielder Devin Saltiban (2-for-5 with a double), left fielder Joel Dragoo (1-for-4 with a double and a walk) and first baseman Keaton Anthony (2-for-3 with a walk) all reaching base multiple times; Anthony, like Brito, began the season on Lehigh Valley’s Injured List and is working his way back to game speed.

Left-handed Mavis Graves struck out six batters in 4.2 innings, allowing a pair of runs.

Single-A Clearwater lost 8-3 in extras, enduring a tenth-inning thrashing. Before that point, Cade Obermueller fanned four in two scoreless innings, third baseman Nolan Beltran homered and catcher Alirio Ferrebus hit two singles, got hit by a pitch and caught stealing.
