Villanova Transfer Portal: Wildcats Active in Recruiting

While they haven’t yet agreed to a contract with Kevin Willard, that hasn’t stopped Villanova Men’s Basketball from recruiting the transfer portal.
A new development in college sports has seen many programs hire general managers to fulfill a role similar to that performed with professional franchises. For Villanova, that man is Baker Dunleavy, giving the Wildcats a jump on the portal while they figure out their coaching situation.
The Wildcats made the top ten for Delaware guard Izaiah Pasha, who averaged 11.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists as a freshman this season, starting all but one game for the Blue Hens. A native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Pasha attended Cardinal O’Hara High School in Delaware County, and his strong performance as a freshman bodes well for a jump to a power conference.
All three of the Wildcats’ starting guards this season — Jhamir Brickus, Wooga Poplar and Jordan Longino — will depart due to graduation, so Villanova will have a spot open regardless for Pasha, who can play both shooting guard and point guard. Pasha made an official visit to Penn State on March 28, but as yet hasn’t announced any other recruiting developments besides his top ten.
Villanova also reached out to North Dakota shooting guard Treysen Eaglestaff, UMass Lowell transfer guard Martin Somerville, a freshman who put up 13.6 points and 3.7 assists per game, and 6-foot-10 forward Cooper Schwieger, although they’ve since fallen out of the running for Schwieger’s talents.
