Villanova Senior Jordan Longino Enters Transfer Portal

Villanova senior Jordan Longino entered the transfer portal on Tuesday, April 22, per a report from Sam Kayser of LeagueRDY.
Longino doesn’t have any eligibility remaining as of right now, but with the NCAA set to debate a rule change that would award all student-athletes with a fifth year of eligibility, athletes are entering the portal before it closes in anticipation of a ruling in their favor: fellow Villanova senior transfer Enoch Boakye did the same thing following the conclusion of the Wildcats’ season.
A member of the ESPN Top 100 in the class of 2021, Longino struggled during his first three seasons with Villanova, making incremental improvements but never living up to his hype as a prospect or breaking into the lineup in a major way, often dealing with injuries. That changed during his senior season, however, when Longino came into his own, putting up 11.1 points, 2.4 assists and 1.0 steals per game as a solid third option for the Wildcats. Longino stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 215 pounds.
It’s also important to note that entering the transfer portal doesn’t preclude an athlete from returning to their previous school. Some players will do so in order to test the waters, getting an idea of where they could gain playing time or NIL contracts.
As of 5 p.m. on April 22, Villanova still needs to fill at least five spots on their roster ahead of the 2025-26 season.
