Villanova Forward Enoch Boakye Goes Portaling

Villanova forward Enoch Boakye entered the transfer portal on Friday, April 11 with a “Do Not Contact” Tag.
The Do Not Contact tag means Boakye will pick and choose which schools he talks to, rather than receiving calls from any coach in the market for his talents… or direct said calls to his agent instead.
While currently out of collegiate eligibility — perhaps another reason for the limiting tag — Boakye could apply for a waiver from the NCAA: as such, his departure won’t leave the Wildcats with another spot to fill on their roster ahead of the 2025-26 season. Right now, they have at least seven openings following the graduation of all five of their starters and the transfers of Josiah Moseley, Kris Parker, Aleksandar Gavalyugov and Nnanna Njoku.
Current NCAA eligibility requirements burn a redshirt year the second a player sets foot on the court for game action, and Boakye appeared in at least 19 games in each of his four seasons so far.
He averaged just 3.3 minutes across 19 games during the 2022-23 campaign with Arizona State, perhaps his best chance to secure a waiver… but given he never missed substantial time due to injury, that might end up a long shot.
A 6-foot-11, 255 pound presence in the low post, Boakye averaged 4.4 points and 6.4 rebounds in 22.9 minutes per game for the Wildcats this past season. He previously played for the Sun Devils and Fresno State.
Villanova currently has a series of on-campus visits planned for transfer candidates to help fill the holes on their roster, including Maryland guard Rodney Rice and Grand Canyon forward Duke Brennan.
