Villanova Men’s Basketball offered 2028 five-star Mason Collins, a 6-foot-5 wing out of Wilmington, Del., on Thursday, Feb. 5.

Collins announced the offer via his social media. He was in attendance for the Wildcats’ Feb. 4 win over Seton Hall, spending time with assistant coach Ash Howard after the game. ESPN ranks Collins as the No. 6 player in his class; he also holds an offer from South Carolina, where his mother, Temple Women’s Basketball graduate Ariana Moore, is a member of Dawn Staley’s staff. Collins’ father, Mardy, also played for the Owls and spent time in the NBA.

Bringing in a recruit nationally regarded among the top ten could prove a difficult task for Villanova, but their combination of local ties and joining the party early could help them gain an advantage. Collins displays two-way ability and as a high school sophomore, he still has plenty of time to grow.

He played for the United States’ U16 team in the FIBA AmeriCup over the summer, playing alongside 2027 recruit and fellow Villanova target Beckham Black. As of right now, the Wildcats don’t have any future recruits committed or signed, but with nine of the 13 players on their roster retaining eligibility beyond this season, they’re set up well in terms of roster management.
