Villanova Men’s Basketball locked up the No. 3 seed in the Big East last week, but the rest of the conference standings needed time to shake out.

With the regular season concluded, we now know that the Wildcats (24-7, 15-5 Big East) will face either No. 6 DePaul or No. 11 Georgetown after enjoying a first round bye in the conference tournament. That game will take place at Madison Square Garden at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 12.

Villanova swept both teams in the regular season, struggling in the first half against DePaul both times before managing to breeze through the final 20 minutes. The Wildcats stifled Georgetown’s offense at the Finneran Pavilion before surviving an 80-73 scare in the return game. The Hoyas and Blue Demons, for their part, split the season series, each winning at home.
