Villanova Men’s Basketball Earns Four All-Conference Honors
Three Villanova Men’s Basketball players earned all-conference selections from the Big East for their performance this season, per a conference press release on Sunday, March 8.
True freshman point guard Acaden Lewis landed on the All-Conference Freshman Team and the All-Conference Second Team after averaging 12.5 points, 5.3 assists and 2.0 steals per game, leading the Wildcats in each of the last two categories.
Tyler Perkins and Duke Brennan made the All-Conference Third Team. Perkins contributed a team-high 13.7 points per game, adding an average of 5.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals as he provided stability on both ends of the court. Brennan finished ninth in the country with 10.5 rebounds per game, finishing second in the Big East in the category. He also scored 12.3 points per game, averaging a double-double across the season and recording one in 14 separate games, tying the program record that Michael Bradley set during the 2000-01 season.
Villanova finished No. 3 in the Big East, securing a first round bye in the conference tournament. They’ll begin their postseason run at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, facing the winner of the previous night’s game between No. 6 DePaul and No. 11 Georgetown at Madison Square Garden.
