Villanova Earns Commitment of No. 31 Recruit Acaden Lewis

Villanova Men’s Basketball picked up who could become a major part of their plans for the 2025-26 season on Thursday, May 1, earning the commitment of four-star guard Acaden Lewis per a report from Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. Lewis, who chose the Wildcats over Miami, later confirmed the report with a post to his Instagram account.
The No. 31 player in the class of 2025 per ESPN, Lewis initially committed to Kentucky; he reopened his recruiting in March, giving Villanova a chance to pounce.
A 6-foot-2, 180 pound point guard out of Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., Lewis possesses strong handles, a natural lefty who can dribble with both hands. Additionally, his polished ability as a passer could help him step into a starting role (or at least major playing time) with the Wildcats from day one. Lewis made 31 percent of his three-pointers as a junior on roughly seven attempts per game, but his ability to get to the basket will help him rack up points even as he continues to develop from long range.
Already 19 years old — he’ll turn 20 on the eve of the 2025-26 season — Lewis’ physical maturity will also give him a boost compared to the average incoming freshman.
Lewis’ commitment gives Villanova three players in their 2025 recruiting class, leaving them with four spots to fill on their roster ahead of next season. They had just one recruit at the tail end of Kyle Neptune’s tenure.
