Villanova Men’s Basketball checked in as a No. 6 seed in ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi’s latest NCAA Tournament predictions published on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

That’s the same spot they occupied last week, so their loss to Creighton didn’t hurt their seeding — at least in Lunardi’s eyes. Villanova (13-3, 4-1 Big East) took a hit in both the NET and KenPom ratings after their 1-1 week.

Teamrankings.com gives them a 97.2 percent chance of making it back to the postseason for the first time since 2022, with a 15.8 percent chance of qualifying for both the No. 6 and No. 7 seeds, their two most likely landing spots.

Villanova Women’s Basketball, on the other hand, currently projects as a No. 10 seed according to Charlie Creme, who runs the women’s projections for ESPN. Despite their 14-3 (5-1 Big East) start to the season — the Wildcats have lost just one game since dealing with injuries early in the season — they have yet to earn much national respect: such is life in the top-heavy women’s game, which powerhouses like UConn and South Carolina dominate.

Elsewhere in the Big 5, Temple Men’s Basketball is off to a 3-0 start in the American Conference, which has them slated as a potential No. 14 seed should they win their conference tournament. While they’re off to an excellent start, that remains an uphill battle.
