St. Joseph’s Prep DL Alexander Haskell Commits to Penn State

St. Joseph’s Prep three-star defensive lineman Alexander Haskell made his college choice on Friday, May 9, committing to the Penn State Nittany Lions. Haskell announced his decision during an Instagram live broadcast.
A 6-foot-4, 265 pound recruit in the class of 2026, Haskell racked up 32 tackles and 5.5 sacks during his junior season, helping the Hawks to a PIAA 6A state championship. He chose Penn State over offers from Ohio State, Pitt, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Michigan, and a bevy of other Power Four schools. The Nittany Lions first offered Hasikell in June 2023, at the end of his freshman year, and he’s made five separate visits to State College since that time, making this an expected decision.
Haskell primarily split time between playing 3-technique and 5-technique as a junior. As of right now, his frame and speed project him as more of an edge rusher at the next level, but that can change as he continues to bulk up. 247Sports’ scouting report on Haskell, courtesy of analyst Gabe Brooks, says that the rising senior could fit best as an interior lineman, but similarly notes that his potential to do so would hinge on his ability to bulk up further.
With one season left in his high school career, Haskell will look to lead St. Joseph’s Prep to their fourth consecutive state championship, and eighth since 2016.
